Welcome to the smallest and weirdest “country” in the world. I am in Sealand, the independent state in the North Sea, eleven kilometers off England’s Suffolk coast.

The Principality of Sealand consists of two towers ten meters in diameter and protruding twenty meters above sea level with seven levels that contain living quarters, a gym, a brig, a chapel and a data haven filled with computer mainframes. A platform with a post office, a lounge, a kitchen, and a helipad links the two towers.

As of the 11th of February 2007 Sealand is taking bookings for tourist visits. From 1st May 2007 onward, tourist visits to the Principality will be available. Prices range from £80 to £194.
